Hi, my name is Melinda. I come from a place not too far from here called Middle Earth, also known as New Zealand, but for more than 10 years, Melbourne has been my home. I’m a geek about many things, including art & design, and have always enjoyed having a career that allows me to exercise my creative side in design, while still puzzling out the more logical side of packaging and dielines for the best solutions to excite consumers.

I’ve acquired over 10 years of experience as a Senior Graphic Designer, with proven expertise in designing commercially successful products, packaging, and point-of-sale materials in complex retail environments. I am adept at managing multiple design projects from brief to production simultaneously, and experienced in guiding the artwork of junior designers. I enjoy print media and its tactile nature, and also love to work in vector-based illustration, known for my quirky cartoon style in textile and surface design.

Although I am very adept at working autonomously, collaboration is central to my design approach. During my time at Spotlight, my contribution to the team and broader business was recognised in 2025 with the Ruben Fried Retailer of the Year Award through peer-nomination. This award reflects my commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes, strong collaboration and positive team culture.
